Central Florida May Have A Colder Thanksgiving Thanks To Greenland

Ok, so maybe not the country of Greenland, but in weather terms, there’s this thing called the “Greenland Block” which is essentially a high pressure system over the country of Greenland that forces the upper levels of the atmosphere aka the Jetstream to dip a bit in the United States.

In doing so, it would spill very cold air into the United States with some forecast models bringing chilly temperatures into Florida and potential winter storm to the mid Atlantic and northeast.

Now, below average temperatures could be 70 degrees as opposed to 73 degrees, its all relative and how chilly it will get is yet to be seen.

However, if you have plans in the Northeast or even upper midwest for Thanksgiving, perhaps keep an eye on the weather channel and think about maybe busting out the boots and jackets in case.

Here are some tweets from respected weather experts on this potential weather shift.
